Whiskey Rose with Aubrey Krekeler

Alexandra Krekeler is currently residing in Cincinnati while finishing school. Studying fashion design lead her to create her blog, Better in Black. Her goals are to influence, educate, inspire, and support other women through her blog. When she's not drowning in schoolwork, she likes to be around friends and family, most likely over drinks. 

 

Ingredients for a single cocktail:

  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Rye whiskey
  • Lemon juice
  • Sparkling apple soda
  • Fresh rosemary

Directions:

  1. Start by making the simple syrup. Put one cup of sugar and one cup of water into a saucepan and wait for it to boil. Once the sugar is dissolved take the pan off heat and add sprigs of fresh rosemary. The leftovers can be stored in the fridge.
  2. In a cocktail glass, mix 2 oz of rye whiskey, 1/2 oz rosemary simple syrup and 1/2 oz of lemon juice.
  3. Add ice, sparking apple soda (such as Izze Sparkling Apple), and a dash of bitters to top it off.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary. Enjoy!
