Whiskey Rose with Aubrey Krekeler

Aubrey Krekeler is currently residing in Cincinnati while finishing school to graduate in the spring of 2017. Studying fashion design brought her to creating her blog, Better In Black. Ingredients for a single cocktail:

  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Rye whiskey
  • Lemon juice
  • Sparkling apple soda
  • Fresh rosemary

Directions:

  1. Start by making the simple syrup. Put one cup of sugar and one cup of water into a saucepan and wait for it to boil. Once the sugar is dissolved take the pan off heat and add sprigs of fresh rosemary. The leftovers can be stored in the fridge.
  2. In a cocktail glass, mix 2 oz of rye whiskey, 1/2 oz rosemary simple syrup and 1/2 oz of lemon juice.
  3. Add ice, sparking apple soda (such as Izze Sparkling Apple), and a dash of bitters to top it off.
  4. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary. Enjoy!
