About Herkimer diamonds: Herkimer diamonds have been found only in the Mohawk Valley in Herkimer, New York. They are estimated to be 500 million years old. Herkimers are actually not diamonds at all but very clear and almost unbreakable crystal quartz. They shine bright like a diamond in person and are known as the stone of attunement.
